Long ago there lived an empire, an empire that spanned across the entire planet. Sickness, famine, even war were things of the past. A utopia, the true pinnacle of evolution. They called themselves the Echelon. Yet with all their innovation,  their perfection possessing a relatively short life span at most twenty years if that was seen to many as a weakness. However it only made the Echelon evermore determined. However no matter how determined they might have been the Echelon simply couldn’t defeat every slave revolt that occurred. Their population reached a an all time low, with new deaths everyday from a variety of things whether it was murder, accident or natural causes it was obvious that something had to be done or else they’d soon be extinct.

Which newfound goal drove them to the creation of geass, at first it was a genetic mutation found when trying to manipulate their genetic code in hopes of attaining a higher lifespan. There where many variations of the mutation geass created and within a matter of weeks the entire populace possessed geass. However one specific strain set itself apart from the other, the power of kings, absolute obedience, where any spoken commander would be followed without hesitation even if asked to die. With this new found power the Echelon could reassert their dominance they were so close to achieving what they deserved above all else, immortality. And at the height of their civilization they vanished never to be heard of again.

That was twenty-five million years ago. . . 

In 2010 a.t.b, the Britannian Empire invaded Japan, annihilating it's armies with their weapons called Knightmare Frames. This was also the year Britannia would make the greatest discovery of the century. They stumbled upon ruins. Ruins who told a story etched in stone about a civilization of Geass users who lived millions of years ago. Their great power kept them alive and strong until something wiped them off the face of the Earth. Something to this day is still a mystery. 

To the Britannian Emperor their power, their Geass, their very way of life seemed intrigued him and suddenly the "Paragon Project" was set. A project to recreate a race of Geass users, by using the secrets and power that has lain dormant for over millennia this new race of men would be a superior race, a dominant race, a Britannian race. But things suddenly went wrong...

Ten individuals, each selected by the Emperor himself to perform in the Paragon Project, these proud men and women where the first to receive the Emperor's"blessing" and the first to become the next generation of perfection. It was these ten individuals that would mark the first true step towards perfection of the human race. Each Britannian would be brainwashed to be one hundred percent loyal to their empire, making it so that there would be zero chance of rebellion, a rebellion that would eventually span the entire world and lead to the Britannian Empire's downfall. However there was one factor the Emperor didn’t take into account. These ten individuals each gifted with a vastly different geass came to a shocking realization. The exact percentage for the procedure to be a failure was 97.8 percent. When those odds are divided by the total Britannian populace the number of total survivors is less than one percent. Disturbed by this realization they rebelled, destroying the lab in which they were "born" in, then fled Britannia. Knowing that the Emperor would personally make it to that they were found, captured and taken back to the mainland they separated. Though they dispersed they planned to save the people from the danger they didn't even know they were in. 

Shortly after the invasion was complete due to Japan's surrender, it lost it's status as a country, becoming "Area 11" and the people even losing their national identity, being made second class citizens and unable to call themselves "Japanese" but instead having to call themselves "Elevens". Britannia's occupation remained perilous at best, with rebel factions rising throughout Japan, and then being crushed. This applied to most of them anyway, as the Japanese Liberation Front managed to stand strong through this initial suppression of the insurgents, fighting off against the Britannian forces at numerous times and more surprisingly, using Knightmares. A strained peace followed after this, as despite few victories, the Japanese rebels had been all but destroyed in the Britannians attempt to crush the insurgents, with most of the insurgents now going into hiding, their leader the infamous Zero (later revealed to be Lelouch Vi Britannia) was captured and awaiting sentencing marking the end of the Elevens hope.

However, within recent years, tensions have increased further between the Elevens and their oppressors. There have been rumors of people who use strange mental powers within Area 11, most of which being Britannia, leading to panic in some of the ghettos and numerous lynchings of Britannians suspected to possess this power. This panic was of course not limited to the Elevens alone, but the Britannian Empire made sure to make it look like it was only the Elevens, and began to oppress them further, making them little more than slaves in the eyes of most Britannians.

Around this same time, the Britannian military began to spread out, suppressing rebellions in other areas and beginning an invasion of the Euro Universe territories, starting with France. As the military spread out, some of the rebels within Japan, led by the Japanese Liberation Front, assassinate the Governor of Area 11, Duke Caravell. This was a great blow to the Britannian Forces in Area 11, however, they retaliated, leading to the annihilation of the Japanese Liberation Front, and what seemed to be Japan's renewal of hope at being free, however, this would be the debut of one of the largest thorns in the side of the Britannian Empire since the Black Knight’s, the Black Demons.

The Black Demons were a rebel group, officially named Kamikaze and nicknamed Black Demons by the Britannian garrison of Area 11 due to their advanced, black Knightmares, capable of matching and even overpowering most of the Britannian frames. They came out of nowhere almost, as they were basically a nameless group from Kyushu before they got supported by a third party. Then their strength multiplied, until they became Birtannia's biggest threat within Area 11. However there was something the Britannian forces didn’t know, while it was obvious that some of these “Demons” were actually survivors of the late Black Knight’s who was leading the Demons as Lelouch Vi Britannia was still in prison was a mystery. 

The Black Demons and Britannia had numerous skirmishes across Kyushu, but no major battles. However, that would all end after the Black Demons went quiet for a few weeks, the skirmishes dying down, and then a coordinated attack was launched on every major city within Kyushu, and every military facility, all of them being seized within hours except from a military base named Fort George, where the Britannians had been able to hold off the assault by the skin of their teeth. The siege of this area lasted for 3 weeks, with both sides taking significant casualties...at least once Knight of Nine, Arthur Cardemonde arrived in support of the Britannians. However, despite his arrival, the Britannians were beaten, and the Knight of Nine killed in battle. At the site of Fort George in flames the last recorded image showed ten knightmares never seen before standing side by side, fire glistening off their shined armor while the knightmare in the middle held up the Japanese flag high in the sky while the Britannian flag burned. 

After this victory, Kamikaze declared Kyushu as Japanese territory, naming it “New Japan” essentially bringing them back as a country, albeit a lot weaker than before. They promptly made allies with the EU and the Chinese Federation, as both sought to use the chaos in Area 11 caused by this group's revolution to their own advantage.

Following this declaration of independence, the Elevens within the still Britannians held parts of Japan began to rebel and riot, being suppressed by the army in some cases and being put to the sword in others. 

However, during the time the Britannians spent quelling these rebellions and riots, Chinese and European forces entered into Kyushu to aid the Japanese army, formerly Kamikaze, against the Britannians, including some of their strongest forces. Lead by the Kamikaze along with his new elite fighting force (the equivalent to the knights of the round) known only as The Dragoon's they’ve managed to secure a great deal of area within the recent months though they still have much work to be done before all of Japan was free. However, despite these ‘small victories’ Britannia has also brought in some of their best to match this, and now the winds of war seem to blow across Area 11 once more, but much stronger than eight years before hand.

The year is 2018 a.t.b, lines in the sand have been drawn..now what side will you choose?
